Radisson chef shares tips for leftovers…
The presents have been put away and the rumpopo and cake is almost done, but if you bought your turkey late and got stuck with a big one, you may be wondering what to do with all the leftovers. This morning News Five’s Kendra Griffith went in search of some tips from the food experts at the Radisson and found Chef Delvorine Banner full of ideas for the extra turkey and ham.
Delvorine Banner, Chef, Radisson
“With the ham, you can grind the ham and you make sandwich too with the ham, just mix it with some mayonnaise or you can freeze it, put it in the freezer so that it could last long and then whenever you take it out, all you can do is put it in a baking pan and put some water in it and then you put the foil and shove it in the oven and it will come out fresh and you could do that with the turkey too.”
“The turkey you can do soup, you can do a turkey soup, or you can do relleno, with the turkey, you can do black dinner or you can do a turkey sandwich. The turkey, you can make tacos too. You can pick it and do tacos with it or you can pick it and stew it down. Different way you have that you can do with it.”

“Is there any special care that people should be taking with their turkey, like how long it can last in the fridge, things like that?”
Delvorine Banner
“With the turkey you can have it like about three days. As long as it is in the freezer it will be okay, you just wrap it up very good in a plastic wrap, you wrap it nicely and you just keep it in the fridge and whenever you need it, well you just take it out. If you cook it the second time, it’s not good to use it again, so what you do is just throw it away.”
