Kendall Crossing and rain
It rained over the weekend and parts of the south are threatened by flooding. The National Emergency Management Organization has issued an advisory on water levels and as you can guess, the temporary crossing at the Kendal River is one of the areas of concern but according to NEMO, it is not yet flooded. The water is one foot above normal and flooding remains a possibility. North Stann Creek is also one foot above normal level at mile eighteen and is slowly rising. Further south in the Toledo District, the Moho River at Santa Ana and the Temash at Crique Sarco are both ten feet above normal levels. The Swasey River has risen seven feet above normal while in Blue Creek the water is three feet over the bridge, which has been closed to vehicular traffic. The Aguacate Bridge is also closed to traffic since the river has risen two feet above the bridge. And a portion of the Santa Ana Road is under two feet of water. NEMO advises drivers to exercise extreme caution on flooded roads and in areas that are prone to flash flooding. Residents in low lying areas are also advised to move to higher ground.
the pace at which the new Kendal bridge is being built, is down right pathetic.
With the government strong-arming utility companies do you think they have time to worry if half the country is cut off from the rest??? All that money they keep giving to Lois-whatever-and- company could have built the Kendall from years ago. They will be out of office next year…HURRRRAAAAY! Then the new government can get serious and build back a STURDY bridge linking the south.
That dah weh this government should a the hustle fi finish than the waste dem time the worry bout people tinted ride!
Instead of focusing on building a road from The Belize Guatemalan border at Jalacte,why don’t the PM invest that money on the Kendall Bridge.My people in the South wake up and stop allowing this government or any government to keep treating us like second class Citizens.
See on google the longest sea bridge in the world 24.2 miles built in China. One may argue that that is China, a very wealthy nation; true, but do a little research and see what China’s economic situation was not too long ago. And to imagin what goes into managing approx- 1.4 billion population, and you get the picture of the brain power that these folks posses. For the past three ears or so, since I began to read Belize new on line, I read about the problem with this same bridge.
If the people that is in charge of the Mininistry of Finance in Belize really know what is to be done it would be relatively easy to generate abondant capital to move the country forward, but they are all mental midgets, boys trying to play in a man’s game. Now, instead of creating a positive climate for potential foreign investor to invest in the country, their actions is creating the opposit. So they go around and around like a dog chasing its tai. GOOD LUCK, for those who believe in luck.

Build Kendall Bridge instead of Chetumal St bridge which nobody in Belama wants..
