Lord Ashcroft, not the enemy in the room, moves on
Before closing the interview, Lord Ashcroft reflected on the future, saying that he has moved on, and that he is not the enemy in the room.
Marleni Cuellar
“As we head into the next two elections, 2012 and 2013, do you see yourself becoming more involved in the political landscape in terms of support to the parties?”
Lord Michael Ashcroft
“No, not really. I think it’s a matter of age and my life has moved a bit as well. I’m very sad for that but then these things are transitory. This is like a hurricane going through. It will be over one day. The present players and the political scene will have moved on, there will be new players that will come in over the years to come. And so I will just sit back and see that through. I’ve spoken to the prime minister a few times since he has been prime minister. I’ve always found those cordial. I understand…”
Marleni Cuellar
“Are these personal contacts or simply in a professional setting?”
Lord Michael Ashcroft
“We go on to personal stuff as well I mean we’ve known each other a long, long time. But I understand the political predicament that he is in. he has to find an enemy to fight and he portrays that enemy as me. But I’m not the enemy. I’m not the enemy in B.T.L.”

It is sad to know that Mr. Ashcroft has given up on Belize, a place he loved and helped in many ways. But I can understand why and would like to say, ” thank you Sir, for helping some of our young people with computers for schools, sporting facilities, the hattieville prison learning programme, etc.
I hope and trust the government will think along these lines, and give more help to the elderly and those most vulnerable.
that means, he has wiped his hands or is in the process of doing so of Belize. Belize and the state that its in and heading will be so sad in the days to come. if there was a graph to show u, it isn’t hard to see why………………………so sad. i love my country but its a shame. too many empty deep pockets and all of them politicians. from expierence
