New information has become available to News Five about the purchase of a government vehicle by Justice Denys Barrow. The former justice resigned from government In January of this year to pursue private practice. He has already signed up to represent the government in the Telemedia legal battles along with Lois Young. A copy of the letter from the Ministry of Finance confirms the terms afforded to Barrow for the purchase of a 2010 Buick Enclave CLX-2 Sport Utility vehicle. The SUV was acquired in December 2009 at a duty free price of one hundred and thirty-five dollars thousand dollars, which was paid for in two installments. The Ministry of Finance approved the sale of the vehicle at a price of one hundred and twenty-three thousand dollars, five-hundred and eighty two dollars, including duties of fifty-three thousand seven hundred and twenty-five dollars which means that the value of the 2010 vehicle was set at seventy thousand dollars. And according to the letter, the Ministry also approved that the vehicle be paid for in four quarterly installments of thirty thousand dollars with the title to be transferred following the first payment. The Ministry’s generosity did not end there; it approved that the remaining balance be paid against professional fees rendered to the government by Barrow.

Maverick, you blind. Bought in December 2009, he resigned January 2011 which is 11 months later. Vehicle cost 135 thousand duty free. it was sold at 70 thousand plus duty. So, in 13 months, the vehicle depreciated by 50% of its value and you don’t see a problem with that?
A few year back I brought in a vehicle which was valued at 10thousand. I paid almost eight thousand duty. If they valued the Denys vehicle at 70 thousand, he should have paid almost 70 thousand in duty (at the very least). I pressume u are a Barrow fan…mussi done get a similar arrangment.
