Couple gets family time in jail for child neglect
A husband and wife spent the weekend in police lockdown and today they appeared in Magistrates Court to face charges of Child Neglect. Forty-seven year old Albert Gentle and his wife, thirty-two year old Diana, were arrested for allegedly leaving their ten year old disabled daughter locked up alone inside their house on Holy Emmanuel Street. Magistrate Sharon Frazer offered them both bail in the sum of one thousand five hundred dollars.
On Saturday morning, police received an anonymous tip and met Diana on Raccoon street as they headed to the residence. She was escorted to her home, where the cops found that the front door was padlocked, all windows were closed and the little girl was alone inside on a bed. Diana was detained immediately but it wasn’t until Sunday morning that police found Albert on Lacroix Boulevard with a group of friends. The child has since been placed at a child care center and her parents are due back in court on September twenty-seventh.
we should start seeing more of this…disgraceful parents
I total agree with what the police did. Police should go around more often because there is a lot of child niglect happening. too many irresponsible parents…..
Thanks. It is about time these folks are caught. The girl is now in a safer place . . . I hope.
