Bert Vasquez has been behind bars since February of this year on charges of aggravated assault of an indecent nature and unlawful imprisonment. Today Vasquez found out he has to spend at least another month and a half in jail after he was additionally charged with forcible abduction and attempted rape. It’s a case that has been unraveling since January twenty-fifth when a twenty year old woman allegedly accepted a ride home from Vasquez. But in her version of the incident, the victim claims that he held her at knifepoint and attempted to rape her. Vasquez is said to have made two attempts; first in Belama and then at mile twelve on the Northern Highway, but gave up due to traffic in both areas. Vasquez also has charges of harm, aggravated assault of an indecent nature and abduction pending before the courts. Those charges are in connection to an incident involving a sixteen year old minor who alleges that in May of this year, she was abducted at gunpoint and taken to the Vista Del Mar Area of Ladyville. She claims that Vasquez sexually assaulted her and pistol whipped her on the face, injuring her nose. Vasquez goes back to court on September twelfth.

how about a sex offenders registry instead of amendment 9. this person has multiple charges before the court. he needs to be kept incarcerated or with an ankle monitor at least. people who had had contact with this predator should speak up on this forum..

If he has been behind bars since February of this year, how was it possible that he had the opportunity to do this to another innocent girl in May of this year?????????? He needs to be kept behind bars if that is really where he is. A lil money goes a long way in Belize… He should be behind bars and kept there for the rest of his life!!!
