Family argument, Family murder in Cotton Tree Village
Tragedy has struck as a trivial dispute, one that occurs in most families, did not go well for a family in Cotton Tree. Anger turned to rage, and then to murder. Before cool heads could prevail, twenty-one year old Thaddeus Castillo was murdered in Cotton Tree Village. Castillo, who is originally from Belize City, was visiting family in the village after losing his job about a month ago. But his visit came to an unexpected end when he tried to assist a relative that was outnumbered in a fight. The brawl is believed to have stemmed from an altercation earlier on Wednesday. News Five’s Delahnie Bain headed west and spoke to family members and witnesses who are still stunned about how the incident unfolded.

Thaddeus Castillo was murdered in Cotton Tree Village while two others were injured in a span of six hours as a family dispute spiraled out of control. The dispute began when Ann Young, while in Corozal, received a phone call from her sister-in-law, forty-one year old Jesse Quiros. Young’s nieces were house-sitting in Cotton Tree, but had abandoned the house sitting duties. According to Quiros, she was attacked for telling on them.

Police have since detained eighteen year old Michael Coye and the minor, both of Cotton Tree Village pending investigation. Arrests have also been made in connection with the murder of Santos Alberto Ramirez, who was stabbed to death in Corozal on July twenty-third. Twenty-two year old Leonides Campos and Joseph Romero were jointly charged for that Murder.
I’m tired of the law that says that criminals under 18 cannot be named. In this modern world, 14 year olds are not children, they make conscious decisions to kill and hurt. We should lower the age of majority to 14 for the purpose of criminal prosecution, in all respects.
What do you think, Belize?
dumb, angry people, doing, dumb angry things, dead human being, the band plays on. Light and love brother.
Belizeans are been slaughtered while Barrow and the Human rights continue bsing.
WHERE IS THE CHURCH????????????
IF THE CHURCH REACHED OUT INTO THE COMMUNITY AND PREACHED THE LOVE OF GOD…..
WE WOULD SEE LESS AND LESS OF THIS……………
come on PASTORS……BE LIKE JESUS!!!!
i agree with storm, elgin and Earl….Earl pastors (Christians) especially rarely go outside thier own church..sad but true..
this is b s even a 10 yrs old now a days know what the hell there doing, dem shud get charged as adults thats why they continue to do these kinda $#!% cuz they dont be strict with them.. jus think about if it was ur dad they killed like that….. dat goes to show wat kinda parents they have.. i wud let him go to jail for life, God is the only one who have the right to take our life away cuz he gave us life…
I THINK THAT WE AS PARENTS NEED TO START TO TAKE CHARGE OF OUR CHILDREN AND TEACH THEM RIGHT FROM WRONG AND STOP JUST SITTING BACK AND WATCH OUR CHILDREN DO WRONG THINGS OVER AND OVER AND DON’T DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT THEM. PARENTS NEED TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND DO THEIR PART IN TRAINING THEIR CHILDREN, TEACHING THEM RIGHT FROM WRONG AND BE RESPECTFUL TO OTHERS. THAT’S THE START
i agree with storm
look at the mexican law they have arrested the kid called PONCHISE who use to kill and slaugther rival cartel enemies. they have his name in all international media so why can’t we do it ,it’s b.s to hear minor’s name is being withheld by the police. He knows what he was doing and now make him be charged like an adult.
I agree that the age should be 14, and go straight to jail. as storm said 14 year olds are well aware of whats right from wrong and know about killing. Who ever that minor is, send him straight to jail, its well desservd. I really believe that the PM should bring back hanging, murderes should be hang, no jail time. I’m personaly sick and tired of paying tax jus so prisoners could be fatten to come comit the same crime all over again.
I would never try to model nothing on Mexico. Corruption is a way of life in Mexico.
