JP President says install the JP Act to control rogue JPs
Angel Moriera and Reginald Cumberbatch have both been the center of scandal. Moriera’s name has been attached to fraudulent land transactions which resulted in the sale of an island and other properties without the consent of the owners. Cumberbatch, as you are aware, has been accused of attempting to assault a male minor in Succotz Village. But the link that these men share is the fact that they are both Justices of the Peace. Prior to the assault, Cumberbatch was well known for charging for JP services, which should be free of cost. The JP status has often been bestowed upon the most respected members of society. But unsavory characters, who have no training, have been assigned the status, in which they charge for service and also break every vow that they should uphold. That’s why the President of the JP Association, says its time the government put into law, a JP Act that his group has developed.
Adrian ‘Danny’ Madrid, President, JP Association
“In the case with Moreira in Dangriga and now you have two other persons with the American—one a commissioner of the Supreme Court and one a Justice of peace who are committing the same crimes. And in the act it says; a justice of the peace or a senior justice of the peace who directly or indirectly asks for demand, solicits, receives or agrees to receive any monies for himself or for another person is liable to no more than six months imprisonment or be charged five hundred dollars. So if this act was in law, we could find these people guilty and replace them as JPS. At the present moment, I am writing a letter to the Attorney General to revoke the JP status of this guy, Reginald Cumberbatch because we have evidence but not concrete evidence but things that people have been saying that this guy has been doing—and with this last thing that he did which he is guilty—it deserves for him to be removed. We have a lot of other JPs who are committing crimes every single day.”

“But you need the Attorney General. That’s what you need; you need the Attorney General to do something.”
Adrian ‘Danny’ Madrid
“We need the Attorney General to put this act into law so that we can work. We have spoken to the previous Attorney General twice, we have visited his office, we have written letters and nothing has been done. What they are telling us now, it is a Cabinet decision. And apparently when Cabinet speaks, it is one man speaks. So this one person, who is in charge, can just tell the Attorney general look here, just put this thing into law so the association can do its job properly.”
My new campaign: Every JP, every police, every public official who commits a crime automatically gets DOUBLE the normal prison sentence.
People who commit crimes with the authority of the government are destroying this country.
The AG should step up and get thier act together. Here is this guy Danny Madrid who is willing to go the extra mile and do the right thing and the Attorney Generals office is sitting on thier hands while the public is getting ripped off.
who is the attorney general anyway? i haven’t heard anything about a new attorney general only the old one. i hear about the dpp, but who is this absentee ag?
The problem with the JPs are that the vast majority are politically appointed, including the Danny ‘the perv” Madrid above. To be a JP, there should be a real governing board that ensures that the aspiring JP meets certain requirements. Instead the association is being led by a former PUP city councillor who prays on young girls at bars and still represents himself as a councillor of Belize when he goes to England. He wants it to seem like the UDP gob doesnt want to do anything about the Jp association when the truth of the matter is that even when his party was in government he didnt give a rats @$$. But now bc he is looking bad as President, he blames it on the UDP. We need genuine people in these posts, not posers who want to ride the next wave into politics.
