Marlon Woods gets out on bail for manslaughter of his friend
Also in court, Marlon Woods, who was charged with manslaughter for the death of his friend, Kevin “Tawah” Middleton was released on bail today. After a week in prison, Woods appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer today and was granted bail of seven thousand dollars, plus two sureties. By eleven o’clock this morning, he was allowed to go home. Middleton died last Monday morning after four days in a coma, which was the result of a blow to the back of his head with a blunt object. The incident happened on the night of July twenty-eighth while Middleton was hanging out with friends, including Woods, on Barrack Road. After Middleton succumbed to head injuries, Woods was charged with Manslaughter since police have no evidence that he intended to kill him. But Middleton’s family is upset about the charge, because they wanted nothing less than murder. Woods’ case will continue on October sixth, when a date will be set for a preliminary inquiry.
