Berne burns plenty copies of his new CD

And while the media moguls mingle on San Pedro, one local all around entertainer who is a regular in media circles is releasing his latest project to the press. Berne Velasquez is releasing his latest album, called Dileeyu, which he says is going have the carnival bands as well as the spectators shaking in the this year’s road march. Berne is also launching the music video for track number four on the CD, which is called “Bad”. He stopped by our studios to tell the public to get ready for Dileeyu.

“The latest project Dileeyu; Suncate dileeyu, meaning everything is okay, everything is alright, everything is gonna be alright if it’s not already alright. This project is inspired my true life, my real life. I always keep it real. Coming from Life After Deportation to the next nine projects that I’ve released; nine CD projects, not including the documentaries and the action movie, Seven Adventures of Sinbad, I’m now at the Dileeyu phase of my life. It’s amazing to me to just see the way that I have come from a hip hop artist and evolved into a slamming soca/Punta artist. Right now the album is just kicking up dust everywhere. Right now the radio stations have gotten a hold of the music via internet and have been creating some massive trouble in the streets of Belize already. The carnival song, Bad, I’m gonna let you decide when you see the music video, what the word bad really means in the way how it’s used in this song. But to me bad is “believing and doing”. It’s like believing and doing. I want you to be able to believe and dream, dream it and believe it. If you can dream it, you can be it. So that’s what bad is to me but it’s put in such a way in this song that’s it’s gonna create a lotta hype, it’s gonna make you wanna move, make you wanna dance.  It’s time for us to have a nice time. The road has been too rough; the load has been too heavy. It’s time for us to shake it off and get Dileeyu, you know what I’m saying. September is here, this album is just in time for the season, September, October, November.”

Dileeyu will be officially released on August nineteenth and will be available at the major music outlets.
