Court frees men of murder charge

Akeem Humes and Ryan Alvarez, both twenty-one years old, spent an extra five days in prison after murder charges against them were withdrawn last Friday. The withdrawal was due to insufficient evidence, but in the absence of a written directive from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb McKenzie did not release the men. On Wednesday, however, they were finally freed, even though the DPP’s directive had still not materialized. That’s because the chief magistrate felt that it was unfair to keep Humes and Alvarez imprisoned.

So tonight Humes is a free man while Alvarez continues to serve time for a separate offence. As for the written directive, the DPP Cheryl-Lynn Vidal has said that her office is not required to make that representation in court because the police prosecutors act on its behalf in indictable matters. The two men were charged in connection with the murder of Jason Michael Flores, who was fatally shot on Kraal Road as he headed to work on December ninth, 2009.
Don’t worry the streets is going to take care of these two idiots.
If the mostrecent history of what happens to these murderers who think they beat the system plays it self out again, these idiots will be headline news shortly. Their families better start putting money aside for burial. It is not a matter of will they be shot or killed it is a matter of when it will happen. This has been the trend, a so called friend will lure them somewhere and help them to reach their final destination “HELL”.
