Stephan Flowers succumbs to gunshot injury

The second murder victim on Friday night was eighteen year old Stephan Flowers, who succumbed to injuries at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Flowers was shot two weeks ago as he rode a bicycle along with Ian Henkis on Mopan Street. Both came under fire by two men who were riding on separate bicycles. Flowers was hit in the lower left side of the abdomen and collapsed in a nearby yard on Courtney’s Crescent. He passed away shortly after nine o’clock on Friday night. The young man’s mother, Shirley Mejia, was grieving the death of her son today and was too emotional to appear on camera, but told News Five that Stephan had disclosed the identity of his shooter. However, since the verbal confession was made to her and not in a sworn statement to the police, that information would not be admissible in court because it is hearsay. According to Mejia, police claim that her son was found with a point forty-five caliber handgun near the scene of the shooting. She vehemently denies that allegation because the bullet that was removed from him was a forty-five caliber slug.
On June eight, Flowers was freed of an attempted murder charge following the shooting of Gilroy Garnett in July 2009. Garnett had been socializing with a pair of friends in front of De He Li Store on Freetown Road when he was accosted and shot in the foot by Flowers, who was only sixteen years old at the time of the incident.

@revengeis4god and rest in peace as i read through these blog I realize that you are probably this young mans family taking up for him like any other family member would do. But the truth is he did someone wrong because nobody shoots you that way innocently. i understand your pain and hurt but you must understand others pain too. if it is true that he took so many innocent people lives then maybe he just got a dose of his own medicine. the point is lesson learnt. And dont blame it on neglect from his parents because we have so many people who had it even worst and end up being productive citizens.@ angry i understand your hurt. Only who feels it knows it.
I’m with angry!… he got what he deserved!!!…. he took so many lives and went on like nothing was wrong! What goes around comes around!!! @revengeis4God… u know how many ppl kill others and still walking the streets of Belize???? well thank goodness one more cold hearted killer is off it!!! when a murderer dies (no matter in what way) I am glad!! He took lives, and had no regrets nor sympathy for the families…. so why in the world should I have any for him??? anybody who says otherwise, its because you dont know what it feels like to lose someone! so say whatever you want to say! my point is that I AM GLAD and RELEIVED that he is no longer here!!!

I fully agree with ANGRY. I know exactly how you feel. I know the same will happen to Casildo and Clarke. The 2 pieces of crap that killed my brother. I pray that Revenge comes swiftly by God’s hands. Your mothers will suffer 10 times worst than what my mother and family are going through for the rest of our lives. God is not sleeping!!

I grew up knowing all these criminals, some from primary school and some from playing football. They were all normal kids. I’m talking about 7,8,9 year olds. However the only difference between me and those criminals is my mother. Very loving, kind, respectful and hard working. Unlike their parents, very disrespectful, abusive, lazy and pays little to no attention to their child. Stephan aka EVIL was very active and always fun to play chase with. He could have been a better person if only he had a better parent to show him.
Bottom Line….I blame these heartless, abusive, lazy ass, disrespectful Butu parents.
The only way to change Belize is by changing your home. Teach your kids, show your kids, discipline them(not abuse) Show them what Love is and how to give Love.
