Farm murder suspect missing
On Wednesday night we told you about the cold-blooded murder on a citrus farm in Hope Creek Village. Thirty-nine year old Guatemalan, Anival Lopez, was hacked to death with a machete allegedly by another employee. The accused, a Honduran national, has disappeared since the incident. Dangriga police have been combing the area for forty-three year old Lucio Perez, whom they believe can help with their investigation. According to reports, Perez was drinking with Lopez and another man when an argument turned deadly. It is alleged that Perez pulled a machete and inflicted the wounds on Lopez’s neck. Workers in the vicinity say that from the onset, Perez was a troublemaker.
“No, the man weh chop off ih head, he just mi got like one month fah work right yah. Yeah cause when he mi come beg job right he mi come ask fi job he mi got wah big chop yah and ih say somebody beat ah up fi ih money and I think dah lie cause dah sake ah problem.”
Perez is still on the run, and the authorities ask the public to call the nearest police station if his whereabouts are known.
