Ministry of Works Employees busted with gun
Ministry of Works Employees have been busted with a trove of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. At midnight on Wednesday, police intercepted a red Rodeo SUV at a checkpoint near mile fifteen on the Northern Highway. Inside the vehicle officers found a nine-millimeter Sig Sauer handgun, five nine-millimeter rounds and eight point thirty eight caliber rounds of ammunition.
The trio has been identified as Ministry of Works employees: twenty one year old Curlan Phillips and twenty five year old Brandon Taylor, both of Jane Usher Boulevard along with twenty-six year old Contractor, Devonnie Meyers of Dean Street. The ministry employees appeared late this evening before Magistrate Edd. P. Usher where they were jointly charged with two counts of Kept Ammunition Without a Gun License and one count of Kept Firearm without a gun license. Although unrepresented in court, all three pleaded Not Guilty to the charges. They could not be granted bail through the Magistrate’s Court, but could apply to the Supreme Court within the next fourteen days. Still yet, they will be behind bars until October thirty-first.
On Tuesday, Taylor, who is a regular at the court, was arraigned on charges of Escape and Possession of a Controlled Drug. He pleaded guilty to drug charge but not guilty to Escape and was released on bail. The trial which was adjourned until Friday has seen a total of eleven witnesses take the stand. The accused men are being represented by Attorneys Carlo Mason, Ellis Arnold and Michael Peyrefitte.

Brandon Taylor was the same guy charged for the Western Union robbery…. got apprehended by police fleeing the scene of the crime and got in a shoot out with the cops, yet the case was dropped by the DPP for “insufficient evidence”. Previous to that he shot at police and only got 6 months for aggravated assault.
But MOW gives him a job!
Criminals get along just fine…Politicians are giving jobs to this murderers and robbers paying them with the taxes that we the victims of the murders and robberies contribute… GO FIGURE THAT ONE OUT…
I THOUGHT GUN CONTROL ADVOCATES SAID THAT IF WE RESTRICTED GUN OWNERSHIP IT WOULD HELP CRIME…. HAHAHAHAHA BWOI DO THEY HAVE DREAMS… criminals dont give a hoot about gun laws.
How can the Belizean government tolerate this type of activity from their employees. How can you hire a criminal who is still active in criminal behavior, I am all for for rehabilitation, but some people cannot be rehabilttated.
