Middle Island Caye watchman in jail for weapon

Sebastian Cocom

A watchman of Middle Island Caye has been behind bars for the past three days for guns and ammunition that he claims belong to his employer. Fifty-seven year old Sebastian Cocom was arraigned this past Tuesday on two counts of Kept Firearm without a Gun License for a sixteen gauge shotgun and a rifle that were found at his workplace on September sixteenth.  He was additionally charged with three counts of Kept Ammunition without a Gun License twenty-two rounds of assorted ammunition. Today he appeared in court expecting good news, since his boss, Ricardo Castillo, was to provide documents for the weapons in court and clear his name. But Castillo was a no-show and bail was not an option for Cocom, who is facing another month behind bars since his next court appearance is on November third.

I know Mr Cocom he is from Succotz he is not a trouble maker he is a poor man in need of a job
he would never have money to afford fire arms and for what.
I request the authorities to consider where he is, is not a house of his own where he could keep weapons for himself. let justice prevail in Belize. dont punish the inocent while the criminals walk free
