“Those two young ladies were making tortillas when lightening come one and this young bwai dat pass away, he went to bathe and was coming back home when the lightening flash there and he dropped.”
Delahnie Bain
“The two other young ladies were injured?”
Mateo Kus
“Yes they were injured, they fell down on the ground.”
Delahnie Bain
“And did Jose, did he die immediately?”
Mateo Kus
“No, he didn’t die directly, but he said he was stumbling and stumbling then he dropped down on the ground.”
While the family was too distraught to speak, Kus explained that the shock may have been caused by metal parts on clothes he was carrying.
Mateo Kus
“He is the one that went to bathe when the rain started and when the young boy was coming back the lightning started. When the lightning flashed, he noticed that something shocked him. His mother sent him to get some clothes from where they wash and when he was coming back, he brought some clothes in his hand and something inside had metal things and while he was coming, I think that is the moment when he was shocked by this lightning.”
Cab and his sisters, Maria and Elida, were hit by separate lightning bolts and Kus says the first strike tore through the thatch roof of the house.
Mateo Kus
“When the lightning flash, these young ladies that were in the house, they are the first ones that dropped. Then second was the young boy that was coming back home.”
Delahnie Bain
“I know the two ladies just came back, I guess from the hospital? How are they doing?”
Mateo Kus
“They were feeling better. The only thing is that they feel pain and hurt on their body just like that.”

i am so sorry for that young man. I pray that the family are restored by the grace of god and all grief vanish.
Tragic, really.
Lightening by nature’s standard is a very fickle thing, but while that is true we can still reduce the risk of being struck by lightening during a thunder storm.
Taking a shower is the most dangerous thing to do in this situation, water and electricity don’t mix.
Wow, what are the chances that lightning hits 3 people of the same family at 2 different sites? This is some freaky stuff. Poor kid. That is really sad.
my condolences to the family of this young man, may God give them strength they need to get through this most difficult time. A real tragedy.
This is sad. something must be sacred in their house. its scary but sorry to hear what happen to the family. they had to look forward to the so called old heads for the answer. This look like a ketcki family. our old mayan leaders can predict what this could be. My condolences goes to the family. two strike at different sites this must be signs.
This is signs for the family. They had answers as to why this happen this is a ketchi family. They know why this happen. we both Mayas and ketchi can predict why this happen. Its frightening and scary but they must do something before anything happen worse again for them. sorry to hear this but it happens folk stories are told about things as this long before.
