Body of Belizean on wrong flight
News Five has received information that a mix up has occurred with the body of a Belizean who traveled to the US recently. Apparently Edwin Gillett, a former Chief Immigration Officer and a resident of Nurse Seay Street in Belize City, died suddenly in Los Angeles. The family does not know where the mix up occurred but apparently the body of another person was shipped back to Belize and arrived at the Philip Goldson International Airport today. Gillett’s wife told News Five that the matter has been straightened out and the body of her loved one has been located. She complains, however, about rumors and exaggerations about Gillett’s death since the autopsy’s result has not been released to her family.
Some people really want to COME TO BELIZE, EVEN IF THEY ARE DEAD…..must have been his final wish.
Great publicity for the BTB and Belize.
“Belize is so wonderful even the dead come to visit”.
Or bad publicity.
“Only the dead visit Belize because they have no fear of getting murdered in Belize”.
My Dear Faye,
Eddie is in heaven, he was a good man, a good husband and a good father to his children, he is one who sets example and had a veru good work ethic I wish some of the other immigration officers used some of his advice. I can’t remember if ever seeing him being mad, he was always a humble man and always smiles. He will be missed greatly.
My Dear Victoria,
Eddie is in the grave waiting, you don’t go to heaven or hell when u died, death is a sleep, we all wait until the Lord comes because he brings our reward with him.Dear Faye please be comforted with those word .
Hold on. Is the family member saying that the mix-up with shipment is related to person’s death? Very hard to believe? The person who does and release autopsy has nothing to do with dead person travel arrangements. Travel for dead are made and confirmed by family members. Looks like airline made mistake and family did not confirm. I have to admit it would be strange to go home and have wake but when they open box, find a different person.
