Another minor alleged sexually abused by man she knew
Another minor has been sexually abused by a man she knows and trusted. This time, the victim is an eleven year old primary school girl, who alleges that she was molested by her stepfather. His name is being withheld to protect the child’s identity, but today the forty-two year old step-father, was charged with Aggravated Assault of an Indecent Nature. Chief Magistrate, Anna Marie Smith, while considering bail, asked the accused man where he lived. He said that he lived with the child and her mother, but was willing to move if granted bail. But the court prosecutor, Sergeant Egbert Castillo, quickly interjected and told the Chief Magistrate that in sexual molestation cases, bail is usually denied in the first instance to protect the child. It was also revealed that the victim’s step-father has a previous conviction on similar charges and was out on parole, which is expected to be revoked due to the current charge. With that information, the Chief Magistrate immediately denied him bail and remanded him into custody.
Another report was made over the weekend by a seven year girl. The young student claims and on two occasions this month, a man known to her only as Jeremy, touched her inappropriately. Police are looking for Jeremy in connection with this report and he may also face charges of aggravated assault of an indecent nature.
