Who should be held responsible for stolen B.D.F. weapons?

Weeks after the B.D.F. armory was broken into and an arsenal of weapons stolen, no one has been held accountable. So tonight’s question is:

Who do you think should be held responsible for the forty-two stolen weapons from the B.D.F. headquarters; the minister, commandant or officers? The buck stops at the top — that’s why they get the most pay.

Sack the Minister and the Commander.

As Voltaire wrote [Candide] “Every once in a while it is necessary to shoot an Admiral for the encouragement of the others.”

When rampant incompetence and corruption goes unpunished, it escalates.

  2. GEORGE ALAMILLA says:

OBVIOUSLY IT IS THE COMMANDANT.AN ARMORY SHOULD BE GUARDED 24/7,NO BUTS AND IFS ABOUT THAT WITH HIGHLY ARMED GUARDS.IT WAS NOT.THAT TELLS YOU A LOT ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WE GET INVADED BY THE ZETAS OR GUATEMALANS.WE WOULD BE OVERRUN IN A MATTER OF MINUTES.SO MUCH FOR OUR BDF

  3. Elgin Martinez says:

The officer incharged at the time of the incident.Reason is that he had a responsibility to ensure that this facility was checked on a daily basis.

  4. indy says:

    Responsible
Commandant- because he advises the minister since he is on the ground
Officer- he is the one doing the security, scheduling and advises the commandant on security and relevant matters on the ground.

  5. Lira says:

The Commandant should be held responsible. This gross negligence and incompetence borders idiocy! He should be sacked immediately. A person who cannot secure weapons of war and is in charge of them should have no excuse whatsoever! And that crap about “we did not expect something like this to happen” would be stewpid(sic)

  6. ladymatura says:

The commander – he has a weekly Monday meeting at which his officers report what hehy have done and are doing… he should have a standard process where weekly he inquires from the officer responsible for the armoury the status of it. And the officer responsible for the armory because of dereliction of duty. in addition there is a serious issue with theft at the base and it was never addressed and so it escalated to this. if they replace the minister i hope it is not with some character who has any criminal cloud hanging over him/her.
