Ebony Street resident charged for Murder on Maskall Road

Sanjay Lino

There’s another murder suspect behind bars tonight. On the night of October fourth, a well-known grocer was gunned down at his store on the Old Maskall Road in the Sandhill area. Ernesto Myvette’s body was found behind the counter and his licensed firearm was missing. It is believed the murder was motivated by robbery. This morning eighteen year old Sanjay Lino of Ebony Street in Belize City was arraigned for Myvette’s murder in the court of Senior Magistrate, Sharon Frazer. It is believed that Lino did not act alone and that he had two other partners in crime.  A relative of Myvette reportedly told police that he had left the store at about seven-thirty on the night of the murder. Soon, while on the Highway he ran into three men who were heading to Myvette’s store. Minutes later shots rang out. When he turned back, one of the gunmen opened fire in his direction and he ran in fear of his life.  Lino was picked up on Monday and charged today.
