Barely walking man charged for robbery

Ernie Hyatt Miranda can barely walk, he is still recovering from a traffic accident but tonight he is having a brush with the law. Miranda and Edwardo Burns were arraigned in court this morning before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer. Miranda had to hop his way into court as he is recovering from a broken left foot. Both are accused of robbing Marilou Smith this past Friday at gunpoint of a cell phone and cash.

The incident happened at the intersection of LaCroix Boulevard and Park Street where Smith, a telephone operator with the police, was standing. Burns was charged with an additional count of abetment to robbery. The two electricians were denied bail but before they left the court building, they claimed they were beaten up by two police officers.
