Clerk busted for forging $6,000
A case of forgery has been reported at the San Pedro Magistracy where over six thousand dollars are unaccounted for. A clerk and interpreter at the court is accused of cooking the books. The alleged forgery has just been reported but the scam was first detected in October and the resident magistrate of San Pedro, Patricia Arana, was brought into the picture. The forgery involved government Revenue Collectors Receipts; there are twenty duplicate receipts on which the amounts were altered from those appearing on the original receipts during the period March to October 2010. The amounts ranged from a one hundred to five hundred. When it was tallied, the investigation found that six thousand and ninety dollars are not accounted for. Police have formally arrested and charged Deidra Casanova for five counts of forgery.
