Jerome Flores completes reef ride
Jerome Flores, a paraplegic cyclist, completed his two-day ride from the capital to Dangriga on Saturday. Flores’ handlers estimated that the ride would take him six hours but when he rode into culture capital on Saturday, he finished in record time of five hours and ten minutes. Flores described his Garifuna Settlement Day Reef Ride as ‘a wonderful experience and a great success’. With video provided courtesy of Oceana Belize, here’s Flores as he completed his two-day journey and rode into Dangriga.

The Reef Ride was primarily aimed to bring awareness and generate funds for the Belize Assembly for Person with Diverse Abilities (BAPDA). BAPDA has a target of raising twenty thousand dollars by year’s end. Contributions can be made to BAPDA’s First Caribbean Bank Account number 10202430. Also sponsored by Oceana Belize, Reef Ride brought attention to the call for a ban on offshore oil drilling.

Jerome rode along with another guy… how comes his name is not included in this news?
