Robber shoots security guard at Tomza Gas Limited

Story PictureA security guard was shot during an attempted intrusion early this morning at a business establishment in the old capital. The incident happened at Tomza Gas Limited at mile four and a half on the Northern Highway. And while the two armed thieves got away with nothing more than the gun and crowbar they went wielding at the scene, they did leave behind an injured guard who single-handedly braved them without a weapon. General Manager of Tomza Gas Limited, Manuel Martin, said were it not for his brave guard, Raymond Madril, the business might have been broken into. Madril was reportedly sheltering inside one of the gas delivery trucks on the compound when the man with the gun tried to get inside while the other with the crowbar hit him.

Manuel Martin, General Manager, Gas Tomza Ltd.
“The security guard managed to take away the crowbar. He was hit with the crowbar and he managed to get rid of that. They put the gun at him and that’s when the struggle began. And after he overpowered them, they fled the scene. During the struggle that’s when the shot went off. I have to increase security on my compound for my employees and assets of the company. We have to protect ourselves here.”

Madril was shot in the right arm but he is now recuperating from the wound after receiving medical treatment.
