A Christmas message from the Catholic Church

Rev Noel Leslie

Across the globe, Christians are preparing to celebrate the birth of Christ. But in many households, the meaning of Christmas has been lost to consumerism. As we lead into the Christmas holiday, Father Reverend Noel Leslie of the St. Joseph Parish reminds Belizeans to be mindful of God’s promise to us; and that as a nation we must be guided by the example of God through the upcoming New Year.

Rev Noel Leslie, St. Joseph Parish

“We are most happy to do this. We are happy that Channel Five was able to come here this afternoon. Serving as a pastor, representing Catholic Church and others, I can extend my greetings to everyone. Well, I would just like to wish everybody a happy Christmas; a Christmas is full of the Lord’s blessings. I pray that peace and prosperity will be a part of our country as we close this year and as we enter into a new one. I also pray that we’ll be more respectful of one another’s right to life and also respect each other’s property. I also hope and pray that all of us will advance spiritually especially as we contemplate this wonderful time of the year when the Christian Church remembers the fulfillment of God’s promise to humanity that he will send a savior into the world to save us. God kept that promise and he wants us too to be faithful to him. He calls us back to him and that is why he sent his only begotten son, who took on flesh and entered into our world to share our lot. He’s not distant from us; he knows what we go through in this life, as we can take all our cares and our troubles to him and pray that we’re gonna experience that inner peace that he alone can bring to us. So Merry Christmas to all of you.”

  1. islander says:

The Catholic church needs to show its solidarity with its people by prosecuting and jailing priests who have raped little boys, instead they protect them and pay off families with millions of dollars so that they do not carry on with the cases in court…TELL ME HOW THAT IS DIFFERENT FROM THE GAY’S GIVING THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE TO TEENS IN ORDER TO RECRUIT THEM? Or at least thats one of the church’s argument when talking against the gay community.

  2. Earl Grey says:

THE CATHOLIC CHURCH NEEDS TO CONDEMN THE VIOLENT CRIME THAT RAVAGES OUR SOCIETY, and offer solutions to poverty. That is the work Jesus the Christ wants them to do.

  3. landi says:

I guess that Islander and Earl Grey should see the movie Bambi: When thumper says that an advice given him was: If you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything.

Who is the Catholic Church? Is the church not its members? and are the members not against the foolishness of immoral individuals and immoral organizations? Isnt the principles of the Catholic Church based upon the scriptures, the Bible? Instead of writing it is best to read and get wise.
