2 charged for Attempted Murder
A pair of Belize City youths charged with the attempted murder of twenty-two year old George Carr on New Year’s Eve was able to meet bail today after being remanded overnight at the Belize Central Prison. Twenty-four year old Glenford Miller Jr. and Leo Palacio Jr. will stand trial during the April session of the Supreme Court on a charge of attempted murder, grievous harm and use of deadly means of harm following a vicious stabbing incident on Elston Kerr Street on December thirty-first, 2010. During the incident Carr, a resident of Berry Street, was stabbed multiple times to the right side of the neck and left jaw and left for dead. In a statement given to police Carr said he was walking near the pedestrian crossing on Elston Kerr Street when he was attacked by the duo. Police were later able to identify bloodstains along the sidewalk. On New Year’s Day, a relative of the victim who was in the vicinity at the time of the stabbing, handed over to police a broken knife believed to be used in the incident.
