Stabbing victim needs blood to undergo surgery

In this newscast, we often carry pleas for financial assistance for persons who can’t afford medical attention. Well tonight, a Belize City man is in need of assistance, but it’s not financial; twenty-eight year old Ellis Ortiz needs blood. Ortiz was stabbed over the weekend and remains hospitalized at the KHMH. His sister, Annette Diego, says that Ortiz is in need of fourteen units of blood before he can undergo surgery.

“What happen is, my brother get stabbed Sunday night on Pelican Extension and from that time he deh inna operating theater dah Karl Huesner. They gave him seven units of blood and he still needs seven more but we need to get fourteen units of blood inorder to give back the blood bank the seven that they gave him and the seven so that he can use to undergo his surgery.”
