Honduran national gets fined for overtime

A twenty-two year old Honduran national, Marcos Antonio Moreno, came to Belize on November ninth, 2011 with a visitor’s permit that expired on January sixth. Moreno never left and was living illegally in the country until he was caught on February sixth. This morning, Moreno, who spoke fluent English, represented himself in court as he was arraigned for failure to comply with the conditions of a visitor’s permit. He wasted no time and pleaded guilty to the immigration offense. The Immigration Department representative did not request a removal order for Moreno to be deported, but he asked that a fine be imposed. Magistrate Roberto Ordonez fined Moreno one thousand dollars, which had to be paid forthwith or a one year prison sentence would be imposed. But up until this evening, Moreno was unable to pay and was escorted to the Belize Central Prison. He told the magistrate that he simply wants to be allowed to return to San Pedro so he can get his personal belongings and he will leave the country on his own after he makes the payment. After paying the fine, Moreno has three days to leave voluntarily or an order will be made for his deportation to Honduras.
Penny pinch him a fine he could not pay, and now we get to feed and house him.
Inside Prison University he might decide to make a career change.
Meeting all new friends, he should be able get get passing grades going from a farm worker to working for a real gang leader. I hear they pay good, but job longevity is not too good.
Once out, he goes back home and teaches all the criminals there in Honduras how to team up with top ganstas in Belize. Then we can go for the gansta tourism market, since they will know how to get hear and who to cut deals with. It is all adventure package, gansta tourists steal and kill real tourists, makes a good movie or TV show.
How much is that going to cost Belize tax payers for that education and fun? No matter, print more money, so the banks get to hold more of it, because no one wants to borrow it, so there is plenty. Somebody complain, pass a law against that; problem go away.
Is it not kinda stooooopid that the Immigration people did not want him deported? How can he continue to remain in Belize on an expired permit? He should not even expect his permit to be renewed because he has already overstayed.
What we might be seeing that is occurring in our country with the migration of deportees from USA to Central America..this guy speak fluent english, Honduras is a spanish speaking country…this dude is a deportee from the US to Honduras for who knows WHAT!!!!…yet our ignorant Immigration Officer will give him another 6 months extension in Belize…and after he will be given O.T.L. and yet he is to leave on his…WHAT THE !@#$ IS GOING HERE????…you think this TUG will leave who will ensure that this will happen…NOBODY…so you see what i mean…He is a GANG MEMBER IN HONDURAS and our immigration authorities are taking this matter lightly…WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE…OUR SECURITY PERSONNEL ARE SLEEPING WITH THEIR EYES OPEN….
In my opinion there are many illegal people live on the island. many women come and work on bars where men spend their money on and leave their kids without food. These women send the money to their countries! when Immigaration officers pick them and later get released! These male immigration officers are corrupted!!!!!
