S.S.B. Board meets suspended S.S.B. C.E.O. and Auditor
The situation with the Social Security Board (S.S.B.) senior team has already been used in advertisements against the Barrow administration. C.E.O. Merlene Bailey Martinez has been vilified in ads with horns and a hefty salary package. In mid January, the Board of Directors suspended the C.E.O. and SSB’s internal auditor Denise Mahler. The S.S.B. Board of Directors headed by Chairperson Lois Young met on Monday from four until seven-thirty in the night. We can confirm that this evening that the S.S.B. board is meeting in an undisclosed location with both C.E.O. and Internal Auditor where their fates are being decided. Insiders are speaking of possible terminations but that has not been confirmed. As soon as we can confirm the results of that meeting, we will present an update.

Is this only a stunt to earn political milage a few weeks before the election, or is this the newer, better way that the peoples’ business will be conducted going forward?
I hope the latter is true! Everyone who is entrusted with the peoples’ money always seem to find a way to leave with more than a fair share.

@ Trader Joe….. I agree with you because they are not the only ones doing that. Every goverment that comes into power does this.Just because we can’t see what they are doing that doesn’t mean that it is not a crime.The blue color crimes are obvious but the white color crime is killing the country slowly.
Common on, that’s a sick joke. Barrow does not punish but rewards his ministers and lackeys. At the end Bailey will be rewarded. Just a cover up. Yes, Barrow is best Master of the games–can we call it the best leader? Belizeans have no job; things are “haad out ya” but king barrow & sons and lois are enjoying good life.
