Charges dropped against wife; but cop locked up
It was a very emotional morning for Corporal Gino Peck and his wife, Loretta Peck. The couple was busted on January twenty-first at their home and had been charged with firearm and ammunition offences. But this morning, when they returned to court, only the corporal was charged and his wife was freed. After she exited the courtroom, the huge number of police officers who came in solidarity with the Corporal and his wife was overwhelming.
The D.P.P., Cheryl-Lynn Vidal informed the court that her office is withdrawing the charge against Loretta and that Corporal Peck is being served with new charges on two counts of kept ammunition without a gun license for a point thirty eight live rounds and twelve gauge cartridges and one count of kept prohibited ammunition for a point forty five round of ammunition. Peck pleaded not guilty to the three firearm and ammunition offenses. Due to the nature of the offenses, bail was denied and Peck was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until April seventeenth.
gud for him, there is no reason why evidence should be kept home or was he paid to get rid of it? like what always happen to evidence in most cases.
Bout time….
Rich kid you are an @$$!@#$, a stupid piece of $#!%, your turn will come and then you will now how it feels to get prosecuted for nothing, please go brush your teeth before you open it and talk foolishness that you don’t know, shut up Poor Kid
This law that denies bail to people who may have never in their life committed a crime, is the stupidest in the books, I am hoping that the commissioner or the minister’s son will be locked up next under this dumb law. Maybe if a police has to sit in jail, the commissioner may get the idea that this is a terrible law.
Pised off you are, we don’t care. we just don’t need corrupt cops. good that they are going ahead and prosecuting him . He should really go to jail…
So pissed off tell me something – are all the regular citizens who are locked up for firearms charges being prosecuted for nothing????? Or should he have been let off the hook because he is a cop??? Just a thought – no quarell
How is it that they were charged jointly now all of a sudden Loretta is free.Bwai Gino your wife took a plea bargin.
All the ammunition found on his premises can be used in the firearm he had?
If he was working undercover, wouldn’t the Police Headquarter know about it – one would like to think that the Ministry has something in place so as not to blow an uncover job (Agent) – if that was the case – meaning that GSU would be aware. As usual, left hand not knowing what the right is doing.
Oh really? Working undercover? Is that the best he can come up with? An undercover officer will come into possession of ammunition and stash it under his bed…..in a dresser drawer….and who knows where else? Peck is a poco tiempo officer who use to hang out at the airport for most of his career. Please don’t elevate him to higher heights. He only has the support of some of his comrades because they fear they might be next on the list. Are far as I see it though….only criminals need beware.
