Cab driver, accused of fondling and biting minor, convicted

A Belize City taxi driver, who has been in prison for the past seven months, was today convicted of Aggravated Assault of an Indecent Nature. The victim was only eight years old when sixty-one year old Godfrey Mortis molested her at his house. In court, Mortis denied the allegations, during the trial which ended this afternoon before Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith. The child, who is now nine years old, also testified “in camera” that on June fifth, 2011 Mortis asked her to go to the store and when she returned, he grabbed her, bit her on the neck and touched her inappropriately. The child’s mother told the court that she knew that her daughter went to the store for Mortis, but it wasn’t until the following day that she noticed the bite marks on her neck and started asking questions. The minor then told her what had happened. The Chief Magistrate was satisfied with the account given by the victim and her mother and found Mortis guilty. She sentenced him to two years in prison.

Well this man look like wa fondler….And 2 years!!! Get real! should give him the maximum sentence because this sh!% happens all to often in Belize. Just check channel 5″s news archives and you will see how common these sexual assaults of minors are.
Not noing this man as some one who will do those kind of thing. I knw him as an ignorant taxi driving and always smells untidy. I know now and like i always tell myself that’s why am not shock or surprized.NOT TO JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER, OR EVEN NOT TO PUT ANYTHING THAT IS NEGATIVE AGAINSED ANY ONE WHO DONT LOOK IT. Always expect the unexpected from alot of males and females in this society now.
