2 escaped convicts recaptured

Last Friday two inmates escaped from the Belize Central Prison in Hattieville. Security at the facility managed by the Kolbe Foundation was breached in daylight by Luis Urbina, a high profile and dangerous convict along with David Burgos. Burgos was believed to be heading north to see his wife in the Finca Solana area of Corozal Town. The details of the capture have not been revealed but by the end of the weekend both Urbina and Burgos were back behind bars. In June 2002, Urbina and two accomplices held up Enrique Petkau and his wife Sussana near Shipyard, shot them and escaped in their van. Susanna later died.
David Burgos
Urbina and his gang then went to Corozal where they kidnapped Jacob Rancharan and a female friend. They took them to Orange Walk where they robbed a restaurant and the female victim before they were caught. Urbina was found guilty of two counts of kidnapping, rape, and an unnatural crime. He was sentenced to ten years for each kidnapping and thirteen years each for the sexual assaults. He received an additional seven years for escaping from police custody in 2004. Burgos, on the other hand, was imprisoned for burglary.
Why don’t kolbe people tell the public there was an escape? Only after capture to demonstrate that all is good? So that means that it is possible there are others who just not have yet been recaptured? Who are those escapees? Why doesn’t John woods have some common sense that all prisoners who escaped before will always try again and then take better measures on them or reduce their privileges? It’s not rocket science- you are there not to serve the inmates and give them bibles and Internet but to serve us the public by keeping the few idiots that do get convicted – locked up- Jesus
@ Stan…..ALL those prisoners except the handful of them for convicted of murder will come out one day, much sooner than you think and l’d much rather they come out with a bible and Jesus than crazier than when they went in.
to Star-so in the meantime, Kolbe can be lackadaisical? and let them escape? and you are idealist if you think they ever come out transformed-a few do, but they are there for punishment for the wrong they did, not to go there to cool their head, relax etc as is becoming norm.
