Hondurans busted for no passports

Yenifer Alexandro Erazo Izaguirre

Four Honduran nationals believed to have been making their way to the US through Belize have been stopped in their tracks. According to Immigration Personnel, they visited the Belize City Bus Terminal on Wednesday and came across Fany Carias Izaguirre, Karen Meral Lopez, Yenifer Alejandra Erazo Izaguirre and Kevin Ramirez Allamirano.  All four were detained when they could not produce proper documents, including a passport. The Honduran national appeared before Magistrate Dorothy Flowers this morning and were charged for being prohibited immigrants.

They pleaded guilty and were each fined one thousand dollars to be paid immediately. But they could not pay and have been remanded to the Central Prison where they will remain for six months if they can’t come up with the funds. The Immigration Department also requested an expulsion order which was granted. The Honduran nationals entered Belize on Tuesday via the Mopan River in Cayo.
