Woman buys KIA, but it was a Rental

A Cayo resident is in police custody for renting a vehicle and then selling it. The scam allegedly carried out by twenty-five year old Mark Rosales was reported by a Belize City accountant who purchased the vehicle from him. The woman claims that on February eleventh, she bought a 2010 Kia Sportage during a trip to Corozal. She made a down payment of seven thousand dollars and signed an agreement to pay the balance in installments. But on the twenty-first, Mark Hepburn of Euphrates Auto Rental showed up at her workplace asking about the vehicle. Hepburn informed her that the vehicle belonged to the auto rental business and that Rosales had no authority to sell it. When Hepburn provided proof of ownership, the accountant handed over the keys and paid a visit to the police station to file a report. Rosales was quickly detained pending charges of Obtaining Property by Deception.

I know right. Too good to be true. Plus she is an accountant.Who in their right mind would make a deal like that? Pay down $7000 on a $25000 ride then pay just $280 a month for the next 5 years or so without interest!!! Look like common sense really scarce. Sorry for her tho because $7000 da lota money.
