Robbers intended to tie up a Priest

Father Brian Christopher

Saint Martin De Porres Parish was burglarized on February sixteenth. The incident was not reported previously, but it was the third recorded burglary at the compound since September 2011. The parish is led by members of the Jesuit community, who also occupy the living quarters to the rear of the church. In what can be described as a home invasion, burglars reportedly attempted to tie up and gag Father Brian Christopher, a Jesuit priest. He woke up at three-thirty in the morning to find a stranger over his bed. Christopher, considered to be one of the more athletic in the Society of Jesus, yelled, kicked and punched his attacker, who escaped into the night. When the lights were turned on, Christopher found rope and duct tape in his room. The assailants had gained entry to the building at the garage. A hole was dug and on, or possibly two persons gained entry to the building and broke through several doors. They scoured several offices and stole a MacBook Pro laptop. Christopher received minor scratches from the attack.
