Private Citizen Spooner voted in Referendum
Offshore drilling has become a passionate issue. Thousands turned out to vote in a mock referendum today. This morning, Jeremy Spooner, a known U.D.P. supporter who was also involved in the Association of Concerned Belizeans before the 2008 elections, called Wave Radio to say he had voted against offshore drilling. Spooner is also a regular Friday guest-host on that morning show. His point was that offshore drilling cuts through political lines. At the other end of the line was Minister Patrick Faber who has deemed the exercise futile. Here is that exchange.

“I just called to say that I gone and vote in the worthless thing that unu say; that referendum and that futile exercise. And I am just telling you the process noh. They will ask you for your election card or ID and ask you what place you vote in and they write down your number and everything and so it is straight up. So it is not no you could go vote twice or anything. That was the process when I went there and it’s very difficult for me to vote U.D.P. and I noh want vote P.U.P., but lawd man. Unu should leave it alone, it’s election time. This dah wah young people thing; a lot of young people involved in this. My son tells me that they are talking about this in school and so on so y’all shouldn’t say it is a worthless exercise man; it’s a good thing. I am proud the young people are doing this thing”

Patrick Faber and Wave radio are so consumed by their rhetoric, they forgot to realize that Belize is a democratic country and bigotry which wave radio promotes ought to be denounced . Since Patrick gained more education, he has become devoid of vision reasoning but instead brews hatred in his heart to free thinking Belizeans.

who is paying Joe and Alfonso to shout “futile” to this process. 2 morons that agree with every single thing that KING BARROW says. all you Belizean americans, you know how much state issues are placed on the ballot at election time. that is the democratic process . why is the UDP hell bent on stifling our democracy. get rid of them now before they dissolve the constituiton and declare KING BARROW leader for life.
If the teachers would be allowed to vote guess how much votes “pa tricks” would get? Nil because he does not care about the education in our country all he cares about is his income.
Last year I had the chance to visit belize, I listen to this radio station and wondering when did the radio station became a place for jacka$$ to bray, I can recall listening to radio announcers like sefe, rene, sylvana, and others who knew radio. these dumba$$ on this station need some sort of radio 101 course. then to top it all off the invited the donkey faba$$ to the show will somebody please close the barn door?
I am tired of this government’s arogance they speak like they only speak the truth when in reality they are the worst of the pack. Get real Mr. Pa trick you are worthless find another job your degrees will not help you when the same people who voted for come hunting for you for explanation. long live Belize!!!!!!!
Yap Patrick got thing to say, he should say he paid his dumb dumb sweetheart education at Galen while smart, deserving people cannot get not even a tuition scholarship to UB.
