Belize City Councilors get Assignments
On Friday, the newly elected 2012-2015 Belize City Council was sworn in. The councilors’ respective portfolios were announced today as follows: Mayor Darrell Bradley has responsibility of Finance, Revenue, and Human Resource. Councilor Dion Leslie will serve as Deputy Mayor for one year and is responsible for Sanitation and Sister City Relations. Councilor Alifa Elrington-Hyde is tasked with Public Relations, Court, Special Events and Culture. Councilor Eric Chang is assigned Works for the North side of the city, along with Zoning & Planning. Councilor Phillip Willoughby will be overseeing Security and CEMO. Councilor Dean Samuels is responsible for Works on the South side of the old capital. Market, Public Spaces and Beautification is the portfolio of Councilor Kevin Singh. MIS, Youths and Sports, will be administrated by new comer, Councilor Bernard Pitts Jr. Councilor Alain Gonzalez is in charge of Public Health and After-School Programs. Councilor Roger Espejo will be overseeing the portfolio of Economic Development, Investment, Tourism and Small Business Initiative. And new face to the city hall, Councilor Michael Theus, is in charge of the Traffic.

Congratulations Mr. Theus. I fully expect you to revolutionize the Traffic Dept. in a few short years.
