Guatemalan National raped by Sarawee Villager

Dangriga police are also investigating the sexual assault of a forty-five year old woman in the Stann Creek District.  The woman, a Guatemalan national, was out socializing with a group of men at Barhona’s Bar in Hope Creek Village on Sunday at midnight when she was invited to another establishment.  Upon arriving at White Swan Bar they realized that it was closed for the night.  That’s when one of the three men, known to her only as Cheetos, offered to take them to another bar.  According to Acting Police Press Officer Raphael Martinez, when the woman entered the vehicle she was instead driven along the Coastal Road where a male person identified as Enil Villafranco beat her and raped her.

“A forty-five year old Guatemalan domestic reported that on Sunday just after midnight thereabouts, she was in a bar socializing with some males and they decided to take her to another bar to carry on this drinking that they were on. Upon reaching that bar, they found that it was closed. Reportedly they said let’s go to another bar and instead of taking her to that bar, what they did was to take her to the Coastal Road and there she was left there with this person whom she later identified and he reportedly raped her and beat her. Reportedly again, a passerby came and she was rescued. Police have since detained this person that allegedly raped this forty-five year old Guatemalan domestic pending the outcome of this investigation.”

Police have since detained twenty-five year old Enil Villafranco, a resident of Sarawee Village pending investigation.
