New Senators being appointed
There are other appointments today. At this hour, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Belize Business Bureau is voting on who will be the senator for the private sector. We’ll have that as soon as the results are in. But it is not yet official, but the opposition People’s United Party, is in processing of returning attorney Lisa Shoman as its lead senator in the Senate. The two other senators are Collet Montejo from the Cayo District who narrowly lost the March seventh elections by fourteen votes. Karen Bodden, who ran for Mayor for the PUP, will also be named senator. The three will be sworn in on Wednesday just prior to the ceremonial opening of the House of Representatives.
Correction he lost by 44 votes and not 14
It is evident that Lisa Shoman is a smart person but the party needs to realize that people out here just does not like her.
She is hurting far more than she is helping!
I like the senators that PUP is putting up. I believe they will do well to represent us n d senate.
Put them in there place Collet. Don’t worry next time you will be the area rep for Cayo Central- no doubt. There are others who PUP can appoint other than Lisa Shoman. She has her own agenda.
