Busted for bullets and immigrant worker

Iris Marcella Contreras Munoz

A Chinese businessman was charged on Monday after being caught with six more rounds of ammunition than his gun license permits. Twenty-eight year old Ming Pei Chen was remanded to prison and today one of his employees was before the court. That’s because the Immigration Department conducted a sting operation that led them to detain several persons from his business in the Ladyville area. It turns out that one employee, twenty-two year old Guatemalan National, Iris Marcella Contreras Munoz, is in the country illegally. In court today, Contreras was deemed a prohibited immigrant and is now awaiting expulsion from Belize. She was, however, spared of any fines or prison time. She arrived in Belize on February twenty-fifth via the Mopan River in Benque Viejo. The only form of identification she had was a Guatemala Cedula, which provided information on her place of birth and last place of employment. While Contreras will be deported, Chen is on remand until April twenty-fifth. He is the owner of several well established businesses in Ladyville including Happy Hour Night Club and Bar, the 24/7 Gas Station and Honey Bee’s Supermarket.

Only six extra rounds? Its not like he 1000 round tins stacked to the ceiling in his shop. Why was the GSU searching this guy in the first place?

Any news on the stolen automatic weapons & ammo taken from the BDF armory?
Does any know or care how many rounds are missing?

As to the story, how many rounds is he permitted to have?
Permitted rounds + six rounds = total rounds in his possession.
If he is allowed by permit to have only one bullet and he has seven, then he has got a problem.
If his permit allows 10,000, and he had 10,006, and he is keeping them secure and not selling them, then he should get a verbal warning and the six bullets seized.

Considering he is a Chinese business man, the police should give him as many weapons he wants or needs to protect himself from criminals, along with round-the-clock police body guards.

Now if he has criminal operations of illegals & human trafficking, he may need his weapons while staying at Hotel Hatteville.

@Belize it…Another report I read said his license was for 100 rounds and he had 106.

What sort of gang activity were they looking for?

  4. now i see says:

I bet he voted blue! Just a wild guess. He looks very young. I wonder how he made his money? Maybe thats why the police visit him but they found nothing so they needed an excuse so they went for the extra bullets. That way they dont look stupid. And his woker 22? Dam, she looks sooo old.
