Ladyville resident Mark Lozano was the second person shot by a lone gunman on Monday night. The mechanic was working late in Belize City on McKay Boulevard when he was gunned down. Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of National Security, Raphael Martinez explained the blood trail left by the lone assassin.
Raphael Martinez, P.R. Ministry of National Security
“Last night about eleven o’clock police visited the K.H.M.H. where they saw two people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the body. The first was Mark Lozano, forty0seven year old mechanic of a Mamee Road address in Ladyville and the second was Cheray Zetina, a thirty-one year old domestic of a Balam Street address here in Belize City. reportedly, at around 10:50 last night, Zetina along with a friend were in front of her house conversing when a lone dark complexion young man on a bicycle rode up and opened fire—one single shot which caught her on her left upper arm. He rode off and later on, on McKay Boulevard, he encountered Mark Lozano and again he fired a single shot which caused Lozano’s fatal wound.”

“Now in regards to the female–that shot that went through her arm—that also went through her chest and exited her back?”
“I was told that it also went through her chest and excited through the middle of her back.”
Jose Sanchez
“Is she is critical condition? What’s the prognosis?”
Raphael Martinez
“The last report we had was that she was in a stable condition.”
“In terms of the investigation, it sounds like a random, senseless shooting. What have you been able to uncover at this point?”
Raphael Martinez
“Well so far we have not determined any motive for the shooting, but as you mentioned it seems as if though it si a random shooting.”
Jose Sanchez
“I am assuming that police continue its investigation on McKay?”
Raphael Martinez
“Exactly we have because nobody has been detained so far for the shooting.”
