Poor illegal immigrant has to pay the price
A Salvadoran national who was caught in Belize after overstaying her visitor’s permit was charged today before Magistrate Sherigne Rodriguez. Forty-two year old Maria Cruz Argueta Flores arrived in Belize on December twelfth, 2009 and was granted a permit to stay until January fourth, 2012. Since she never left, Argueta was charged for Failure to Comply with her Visitor’s Permit. She pleaded guilty and was fined one thousand dollars to be paid immediately. But she could not pay and will spend six months in prison. But that’s not where the trouble ends for Argueta, who is also the subject of an investigation by the Immigration Department. While the details were not disclosed in court, it was revealed that Argueta was caught attempting to get a Social Security Card and birth certificate for a minor. Immigration Officials requested and were granted a removal order to have Argueta deported at the end of her prison term. Magistrate Rodriguez, however, asked if she could be assisted in obtaining legal status. The Immigration representative explained that that would be up to the senior officers in the department and that she would have to pay additional fines.
Well done….that’s what needs to be done more often with this illegal immigrants.
I don’t feel we should call her poor since she knows the regulations of being legal and doing fraud documents. which in other countries no chance would have been given, which means she would be listed in a deportee list. make she pay the fine and later apply if needed or make them deport her. simple as that. pay the fine and work her doc. later if she wants.
The inmigration should visit all the bars where they have all this ladies. They have them all over the country. Its so easy but they dont do it,i wonder why?
Just pray that the 3 of you that commented above never have to emigrate. You have no hearts.
Cold blooded.
