2 Belize City teens missing

Two Belize City teens went missing on Friday; their families spent the entire weekend trying to find them, but had no luck. So today they came to our studios to ask the public for assistance in locating fourteen year old Aaliyah Lanza and fifteen year old Paula Gentle. According to Lattie Lamb, who is Gentle’s mother and Lanza’s grandmother, the girls left home after the rest of the family went to bed on Friday night. They were spotted in a vehicle later that night, but haven’t been seen since. Lamb spoke to News Five along Gentle’s aunt, Trisha Steele, who is visiting from abroad.

“Friday night we were at home. We went to bed and shortly when we get up, they were missing out of the bed—two of them. My daughter and my granddaughter, two of them went missing and we would like to know their whereabouts, both of them and tell them we love them very much and we need them to come back home as quick as possible.”

“Did they have any—were they upset about anything? Any idea why they would have left?”

“No, I have no idea.”

“And they were both in the house when you all went to bed?”

Lattie Lamb

“Yes, we went to sleep but after a while the brother said when they came about two or minutes to two, he said dat dehn fly pass he eena wah vehicle; two ah dehn.”

“Okay, and he didn’t see who they were with?”

Lattie Lamb

“No.”

Delahnie Bain

“And you don’t know if they have any friends or so that would go to?”

Trisha Steele

“I noh know; maybe my granddaughter but noh di lee fifteen year old; she neva did run weh before.”

Delahnie Bain

“So you’re granddaughter has done it before?”

Lattie Lamb

“Yes, she done it more than once. We just want them to know that we all love them and we want to come back home because everybody is worried… I am.”

“I just want Paula to come home, we miss you. I would really like for you to come back home with us but we can’t do anything without you being home. This is the first time I’ve seen your dad cry; I’ve never seen your dad cry. He really misses you, your mom misses you; we all miss you. Please come home, please give me a call, I would really love to hear your voice. We love you, come home.”
