Unidentified man found with chop wounds behind head

Six days, five murders… just before the lunch hour, a trucker made a gruesome discovery; he spotted the decomposing body of a man off the Hattieville/Boom Road. Police have not confirmed the identity of murder victim number five, but it appears that the man was killed elsewhere and then dragged to where he was found. In his pockets they found lottery tickets dated last Thursday. News Five’s Andrea Polanco reports.

Almost nude, clad in only boxer shorts pulled down to his knee, the badly decomposing body of an unidentified man was found behind a shrub on the Hattieville-Boom Road. Described as a man of dark complexion, the body bears two chop wounds:

Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer

Fitzroy Yearwood

“This body was partially dressed; the person was wearing a green polo shirt with blue jeans pants and we found on the scene another purple t-shirt. This person has what appears to be two wounds to the back on the left side of the head and we can see other marks on the body so we definitely suspect foul-play in this.”

The body was called in by a truck driver, Allan Kingston Junior, who was passing at the time and was alerted by the heavy presence of vultures:

Via Phone: Allan Kingston Jr.

“Weh happen is that last Saturday I mi gone out dah side with my friend gone hunting and I mi shot wah deer out dah side and I didn’t retrieve it so when I was just passing through today with a load of sand to take to Belize City on Cemetery Road and I saw a lot of john crows on the oak trees by the fences and we continued all the way but picked up a friend coming back and we stopped there and he was the first person who see it and when we come out we figured that it was a human being there.”

The body, upon initial investigations, bears no major distinguishing mark. A pair of Fantasy Five tickets was found in the pants pocket:

Insp. Fitzroy Yearwood

“One mark I can recall is that he had what appears to be a sore on one of his feet which would appear like a diabetic sore. It’s interesting because we found two ‘Fantasy Five tickets’ in one of his pants pockets and these were dated the twelfth of April; that they were purchased at that time. We don’t know if he went missing from that time but you might know if your relative has gone missing for a while and if you can come forward and identify the person that would be great.”

Police officers process the scene where pieces of materials resembling sheets, a red pillow, among other items are strewn around. This blood stained shirt lie desolately, close to the road:

Via Phone: Allan Kingston Jr.

“When I was there with the police, we saw two red pillow and some pieces of boxes. Look like they had him with some pieces of boxes; it looks like they had him in some boxes; old sheets and things in the corner of the trees. It looked like they had him wrapped up in a sheet with the pillows.”

Police are yet to determine whether the man was killed here or his body was merely dumped in this area:

Insp. Fitzroy Yearwood

“Based on what I have observed we can see that the body was dragged off the highway over that little hill that is behind there and left at the area where it was discovered this morning nuh.”

Andrea Polanco

“Mr. Yearwood, I see a number of fabrics around; I see a pillow; were these used to cover the body or hide the body in anyway?”

Insp. Fitzroy Yearwood

“We believe that some of the fabrics were used to drag the body to where it was left. We are not certain if the injuries were administered to him here or if he was brought here already dead.”

Reporting for News Five, I’m Andrea Polanco.

A post mortem conducted on site just before six this evening, determined that the man died from chop wounds to the head.

He was killed in his house or in the killer house and left there where he was found.
    Clues, sheets, pillows, etc.
I hope someone can indentify this person, how tragic.
