Video shows suspect tried to shoot SSG but gun failed

As we reported on Tuesday, Jermaine “Horse” Garnett, a South Side Gangster, was shot on Freetown Road on Tuesday afternoon. One bullet found its mark on Garnett who was in a Landcruiser near the Freetown Drugstore waiting for his wife who was inside the drug store. A suspect was charged this afternoon. News Five’s Jose Sanchez has been following this story and has video of how the incident unfolded.

It was a brazen rush hour shooting that occurred on a busy street in Belize City. Officers picked up one shell from the scene where thirty year old Jermaine Garnett senior was shot in front of his white Toyota Land cruiser. While his wife was inside the Freetown Drug Store, the cameras peripheral vision recorded what happened. A partial view of the Landcruiser is visible while the traffic flows. In the bottom of the screen you can see the shadow of a man eating. What is not shown is that a gunman is struggling with Garnett who has gotten out of the vehicle. When the shot is fired, the consumer looks up. 
Then you can see the shooter wearing a cap and a three quarter pants on bicycle ride in front of the Landcruiser. He stops, get off the bike, reaches down for his weapon and tries to crank it several times. But the man called Horse, had already ran around the corner. You can see Horse’s wife, come out side looking left then looking right for him. She goes back into the Freetown Drugstore, where the owner corroborated this version of the event.

“A bout five o’clock, one of my regular customers, Miss Pamela, she come in come fill wah prescription right. So when she come in ya, I gone and full the prescription. But when I di full out the prescription like how dah only me one deh yah, I deh out di look outside fi see if anybody come in. So her husband was sitting outside in the vehicle waiting for her. And this dah bout five o’clock then about five minutes later, we just hear a gunshot. I saw her husband sitting in the vehicle and I saw like when he got out—I noh see nobody else come around ahn. And then when the gunshot, she holla, “they shot mi husband.” Like automatically she say that dah her husband they shot. and when she run outside, we noh see nobody—I gone outside with ahn and we noh see nobody. We noh see ih husband; we noh see no gunman. That dah basically it.”

The shooter in the video has been identified by the victim as a person he knows only as Gizmo. Officers have detained one person for questioning. RN5JS.
This afternoon, Gizmo, whose name is Gion Bernard, was charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and wounding of Garnett. Police believe that the shooting of Garnett and Corrington Bowden on Monday are related, but Bernard has not been charged for the Bowden shooting. Bernard’s mother is also in police custody since the gun was found at her house on Castle Street. She is expected to be charged on Thursday with a firearm related offence.
There’s not much difference in evil between murder and attempted murder — just the gun jammed. So if he can’t be hanged, let him rot and die in prison.
The police need to collect all the gang members from both gangs take them to belize city center. lock them up and let them kill themselves.

This is the crux of the matter. Parents condoning, aiding and abetting all this nonsense. It’s not rocket science, it’s relatives shielding each other knowing fully well the terror that is being let loose on innocent people. Yet these are the same ones that come on national tv swearing up and down that deh pickney didn’t harm a fly.

he is a parolee. kolbe foundation stated that criminals change so he was released on parole just to commit another crime. GOOD CHANGE MR. WOODS (YEAH RIGHT). the government needs to take over the prison to teach those criminals a lesson kolbe just pamper them and tolerates their criminal behavior. the prison officers are also being chance by the kolbe management. GOVERNMENT PLEASE TAKE OVER THE PRISON
We need the disregard the human rites for a month and let the authorizes deal with the situation, wipe out the rotten eggs.
I would dear the say that the police is the problem. If they were or could be respected crime rate would drop over night. The people have no one to turn to for help in times of trouble because the police are waist deep into the crime of the country.
