Arthur Young died from 3 accidental gunshots?

Arthur Young

The funeral of Shelton “Pinky” Tillett took place this afternoon and in anticipation of any violence, police and B.D.F. are on full alert throughout the city and particularly in the George Street area. Meanwhile, the results of the post mortem on Taylor’s Alley Gang leader, Arthur Young, who was believed to have killed Pinky, have been released. According to the results, Young died from internal and external bleeding due to gunshot wounds to the chest. That suggests that Young was shot more than once and according to our sources, he was shot three times, in the chest and the mouth. One person who has viewed the body says that there were physical injuries on his face, neck, arms and chest but that the body was covered from the torso down. Police claim that Young was shot when he tried to disarm an officer while in detention in the pan of a police vehicle on Sunday night. That statement has come under question because he would have been in handcuffs and it is highly unlikely that the police weapon would have discharged more than once in the scuffle.

Actually, if other officers were present and Young threatened an officer’s safety somehow, multiple officers might have fired, explaining 3 or more wounds. I read about a police shooting in Los Angeles earlier this month in which 6 or 7 officers fired more than 90 shots in a few seconds at a suspect who threatened an officer, before the suspect fell. It was all caught by a television news camera, and it was amazing how the officers could unload all their bullets in just a few seconds, almost the blink of an eye.

So we mustn’t jump to conclusions based on too little information.

Anyway, Arthur Young is pretty well known to have done much worse to many more people\, and his timely demise almost certainly will save unknown lives from now on.

The Police has become judge and jury. We need to police our police force what is things come to now. This is second time this week the police has been linked to killings and gangs.

I am not in anyway defending the gangs but there is a reason why we have a judiciary system to protect all its citizens even the bad ones.

Shooting a man dead whilst in handcuffs in custody only leaving thinking they were trying to cover up something.

I would like to see the police involved suspected pending an investigation to know what really went on.

Belize police department seems to have it’s own justice system. A gunshot to the mouth = EXECUTION. Reading your daily news, it appears that the policemen/women there can get away with anything and the government look the other way. Belize is the new Mexico/Jamacia

  15. Jr says:

It comes to show that Belize need a forensic team to solve these murders and issues in Belize, a police job is to surve and protect the people, not to brutalize the cilivians, a person is innocent until proven guilty, cops in Belize love to abuse there badge, It would be great for government to step down on these people but unfortunately that’s impossible knowing the corruption start with them, eyewitness saw that this person was badly bruised and battered after he was apprehended, that simply means he was sitting down in the pan of the police truck surrounded by cops, how can this person stand up and struggle to dis arm a cop if he’s badly beaten and cuff. Ok even if made an attempt, why is there a pool of blood laying in the middle street and not in the pan of the truck? It was a great setup but a bad cover up no one don’t believe that statement.

well, i don’t think no one is authorized to TAKE ALWAYS SOMEONE LIFE. that’s GOD judgment and no one else. that’s why there are prison to punish those who do wrong and don’t appreciate there FREEDOM .
God said he would put people with authority to help each country(like government along follow his law which was only 10 commandment, and them ones in authority would should have help (police, judge etc) but yet no one has the right to remove life’s from earth.
like how “OLD MAN” said ” let God do the sorting out.”

  19. Truth Seeker says:

I have been given the chance to meet Arthur Young, and spent a few short hours with him without having the knowledge of his past, alleged, criminal, history records. Honestly, what I saw in him was warmth, wisdom and love in his persona. What I saw in him was not the ruthless and fearless person the media and the public have claimed him to be, but rather the opposite by way of tone he uses in conversation, eye contact, body language (yes he may have been afraid of the police, but who wouldn’t be if the police were out to get you as he said, “The way I see it right now, if I meet up to the police, if they meet me in a spot I think they are going to try to kill me.”) This definitely sounds prophetic; he knew that the police would be the ones to end his life. We do not know the full story. We do not know fully what Mr. Young went through, his experiences, his real demons tormenting him every single waking hour of his remaining life, what changes he wished to make. We shouldn’t solely rely on what the media says, what the police say, what the authorities say, what the Government says, what our educational system say. The point is we do not know the entire truth; we even may all have been fooled! Remember, all humans are flawed and yet perfection potentially exists within. Yes Mr. Young is a gang member and a skilled one at that and he has made mistakes; but based on my observation, I didn’t see any ruthless killer in him; I saw a man who cared, who wanted to see positive changes in his country, in his fellow gang members, and as much as in himself. The sad thing is even if gang members want to bring changes to their lives and the lives of others, it is a difficult ordeal. Some gang members may have realized the mistakes they have made as a youth and wished to change, but after the realizations kicks in, they are faced with the sad truth that it may even be too late. Arthur Young could have brought inspiration to risky youths and potential members.

Those who have led a life of a gang are more able to inspire positive changes as they know what kind of life being in a gang really is; they have experienced it. Additionally, eradicating gang leaders and members by way of execution is not the answer! Crime and violence would continue on; gangs are not the only ones responsible with crime and violence. If we really want to see changes, each of us needs to look within and be the judge of our own actions, rather than worrying about and criticizing the supposedly “evil” deeds others make. Want to see positive changes? Then change yourself and then by example, you can inspire others to do the same.
I do not know Arthur Young personally, but in those short hours when I met him, I have not felt any eerie, malicious or negative vibes from him. We all know intuitively and instinctively deep within how a person really is, how authentic they are when first introductions are made. Majority of us ignore it though.

R.I.P Arthur Young and Sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

everybody here made their point and they were all good points but the key word here is (corruption) from the government down to the ppl they’re all corrupted but the biggest and main factor is the government start there and we can fix almost everything after. its true if you kill the gangters off you’re getting rid of them but for that formula its messy and inhumane but for that to work you have wipe out everybody at once cause these fools in the streets are like roaches they always have eggs around in this case the little street goones under the bosses kill everybody and show them the power of the law but honestly that wont work cause u always have up and coming wanna bes in everything including gangsterism plus you have these idiots getting deported from the u.s pretending to be crime bosses BUT! honestly again AMERICAN & JAMAICAN culture influences our youths these days one is gangster gangster and the other is badman this and badman that and they all say you shoot me, i shoot you back and its all one big circle so there’s so many points to touch (media, government, people) in that order but just so you all know violence only leads to more violence the police here are amateurs. i’m young but i’m sure if they gave me a shot and enough power i would make a difference.

  21. Carrie says:

he deserved what he got, after all Young had no mercy or heart when he killed people himself, I say “good riddance” Belize does not need this type of people in our jewel….get rid of his kind…..

  22. basically saying says:

The question is……. Is Arthur Young really dead?????…Hmmmm Policing guaring the body @ the morgue…. No funeral….. no body viewing…… cremated…..was this just a stage show??????????

  23. not really says:

we know that arthur young is dead. How stupid are all of you belizeans. ! look at this entire story shows that his death was a plot. The man already stated he would have given in himself monday morning that is why police killed him.His killing was definately sent from high officials in government. People like me who really live in belize and know whats happening can tell you.But it all comes down to how stupid alot of belizeans are and some are afraid ofcourse to voice their opinion. We are in a trap here when police are investigating police and their bosses in the government. We need some intervention . A police force that will charge whomsoever no matter of therir political status or if they are a cop as well.It all comes down to nothing will happenin this other murder and i honestly wish people start taking it out back on the police and government if that is how they want to play the game. Because that will be the only way for anyone who wants justice for it to happen and i am speaking about everything on a whole not just this government sanctioned killing. But they are doing much more to us.if you are smart and you live in belize then you know what i am speaking about

  26. SW@GVILLE says:

Masyp you sound like you have a good heart the way you speak,we need people with heart to be our leaders. All around Belize there are a lot of high ranking officers, with all of those officers you are telling me that a few of them can’t controll a small city like Belize.Say no to corruption and do your job according to the laws of Belize, not according to when a minsiter calls you should release this one and that one.Too may people in our justice system don’t care, they don’t care if they get the right person as long as it sticks on someone they are happy. If i was single i would join the force and clean that spot up.They would probably execute me too for trying to clean up all the corrupted people in there. If a bunch of cops roll up on me or as me to surrender i will take all my clothes off because all they need to say he was reaching for a weapon and they will kill you because they are itching to kill right now. What they fail to realize that not everyone on the streets are criminals.Realize that hard working people are out here too.Don’t look at us the same way you look at that gang members. To God everytime i see a police he mad stairs me and i have a job and i don’t rob or kill.If any police tries to take advantage of me and think i can’t do anything about it they better tighten up. Any police try chance me i will just do them what i have to do them, because it is getting to a point that they start to !$#% with people because they have a pretty girl or the police likes to see the girl. We need proper training for officers , not only knowing the laws but also Public relations. Police are supposed to know how to deal with people because that is all what they do,deal with !@#$%^& people. How the !@#$ you could have police that can’t deal with poeple.
