Two atrocious rapes in Corozal

Two females including a fifteen year old minor were raped in separate incidents in the Corozal district. The first involved a report made by a fifteen year old girl who in the company of her mother told police that in April of 2011, she was allegedly raped by her stepfather. The minor says that on a day when her mother was not at home, her stepfather allegedly went into her room, took off her clothing and had sexual intercourse with her against her will.

In the other incident, a twenty-two year old domestic of Corozal District reported that on Thursday around seven p.m. According to the victim, while walking in the San Andres Area, she was being followed by a male person known to her as Ryan Skeen. She says Skeen has been sexually harassing her for some time and upon passing by an abandoned lot, he allegedly threw down his bicycle, grabbed her by the neck and dragged her into the bushes. During a struggle with Skeen, she was rendered unconscious and later woke up to find Skeen on top of her. Thereafter, she says Skeen threatened to choke her. A few minutes later, Skeen told her they could go somewhere else and she then took the opportunity to run away from him. Police are investigating both incidents.
