Kenneth Dobson to stand trial for North Creek Murder
Twenty-eight year old Kenneth Dobson has been committed to stand trial for the murder of Ervin Staine which occurred less than a stone’s throw away from his home on North Creek on June first, 2011. A preliminary inquiry concluded before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith this evening where Dobson, who appeared unrepresented, was informed that the case will be committed to the September session of the Supreme Court for trial. The decision came after the Chief Magistrate read the statement of an eyewitness who told police that she saw when Dobson produced a firearm and shot Staine in the chest, abdomen and leg. The testimonial, Smith determined, was enough evidence to assign the case for trial. Dobson is scheduled to reappear in court on September seventeenth, a tentative date, when it is expected that a plea will be taken. On Wednesday June first 2011, Staine was socializing at a regular hangout spot on North Creek when he was accosted by two men on bicycles who opened fire and mortally wounded him.
