Mena Group gets back Wood Depot assets

In the Supreme Court this morning, the assets of what was formerly known as the Wood Depot Company were returned to the Mena family of Belmopan. The Chief Justice, Kenneth Benjamin determined that the company was not after all going to go on the auction block and ended the receivership. First Caribbean placed the company in receivership on July thirtieth, 2010. A brief release from the company says that as a result of an agreement between the parties, the Mena’s will resume operations under a new company called Wood Shop Limited. According to a reliable source, Fresh Catch, the tilapia farming company, remains in receivership but that may also soon end since an agreement is about to be reached involving foreign investors. In the case of Wood Depot, Attorney Eamon Courtenay represented the Mena family while the bank was represented by attorney Derek Courtenay.
