Kim Simplis Barrow returns to Belize
Kim Simplis Barrow, the wife of the Prime Minister is back in Belize. She returned earlier today from Miami, Florida where she has been receiving treatment for stage-three breast cancer. Radiation therapy was recently discontinued because it was detected that Simplis Barrow had suffered heart failure and had water in her lungs. Barrow says she is grateful for the support she has received since her diagnosis.
As a nurse who has worked with cancer patients in the US , I empathize her situation. But I am sick of seeing all this story about her simply because there are many Belizeans who are afflicted with this disease in some manner but do not have access to treatment because they cannot afford to go outside of BZE to get treated. Why not focus all this time into getting/ starting a cancer treatment center for Belize and have Belizaens access to it ? This way Belizeans can have some hope of battling this dreadful disease!
Mel you are so right so many belizeans with cnacer do not have the money to go abroad for treatment like the barrows and yet he has no good word to say about them in fact if he would stop paying the gang members perhaps we could build a cancer center here for the whole population whenever things are going really bad like all the murders in the country he uses his wife for distraction yes we are sympathetic to her problem but their are hundreds of belizeans who don’t have the previlidge of going over seas for treatment they have to stay here in Belize and suffer.
To mel and rod. Our prime minister is a very educated man. His wife has cancer he has to see how to safe her like any other decent husband will do to their wifes. I agree we need a cancer center here maybe in the future thats their plan and name the hospital on her honor. Wellcome to Belize Mrs Kim. Hope you get better soon.
well said mel and rod i agree totally
education does not garantee honesty. and our pm lacks both.
Well said Mel & Rod, now I see, still can’t see. The only time I hear Barrow feeling sorrow is for his wife, what about the SENSELESS DEATHS, I haven’t heard him sending condolencies or apologizing for his incompetence, in trying to correct the wrongs that are ongoing.
Now I see, no matter what you say, these ignorant people will continue to blame the pm for the murders and anything else that isn’t right in Belize. If his wife wasn’t ill and he wasn’t trying to be by her side, there would be something else they would find to berate him about. I too, would like to see and hear him address his plans to help combat the murders and other crimes taking place in Belize. But I would never blame him for what individual wicked, hearted people are doing…. It just does not make sense how some of these people rant on and on….. That’s like blaming President Obama for all the murders occurring in the USA….when we ALL know it started (CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES) before any of them became leaders of their countries……AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, they cannot be resposible for individuals who commit crimes. THEY CAN PERHAPS HELP TO CHANGE LAWS, THEY CAN ADRESS THE ISSUE NATIONALLY IN PUBLIC ADRESSES. BUT IT JUST DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL TO BLAME A PRIME MINISTER FOR THE EVIL PEOPLE IN HIS COUNTRY ARE DOING.
I agree with Mel. However, that does not take away from the fact that Kim is going through a very difficult time right now. She is fortunate to be in a position whereby she can afford treatment abroad and I hope that after she recuperates she is able to take her experience and create ways to facilitate others in accessing treatment to combat cancer. Welcome back home, Kim. God bless.
Hey now I see.thats why the pm have a second is rite he has a wife an should be good by her side ,anwhy would they put a center in her name there are many people who have breast cancer an dont get help not even by the gov
I wish Kim Simplis Barrow a speedy recovery! God’s blessings on her. I want to thank her for all the charities her nonprofit has helped. I would love if her nonprofit would focus on starting a cancer center in Belize….there are many other Belizeans that need treatment but are too poor to afford the treatment. We need more people to be proactive and volunteer and think of ways to make Belize a better place….what are you doing?????
Belize needs a Jesus rivival. There is so much sickness and death and evil that has come upon this country. The church is failing the country, the very people who should recognize that this is a spiritual warfare that is taking place has turned a blind eye.
Pastors and Ministers you will have to anser to God for not allowing his power to be seen among the people and for the healing of the nation. Forget the Cathlic church, they will pray to St Jude, the Bible clearly says that prayers are to be made to the Father in Jesus’ name. Much of this spiritual warfare is because there are so many gods being served in Belize. The Almighty God has been pushed aside.
There is a darkness that has settled over this country and only fervent prayer will change it. Please walk the city and pray from the word of God that this curse be broken.
Why there is murder is simple the poverty, unemployment, corruption, lack of strong prosecution, fear of witness. Sorry but Belizean society together will have to fight back to regain control of their neighborhoods by volunteer watch nite patrols. Train to fire n self defense rights to citizens. That is the reality. We can pray but we have to fight fearlessly too just as wars are fought to gain victories to get peace.
Mel & Rod,I totally agree. This is coming from someone whose mother & grandmother passed away from breast cancer. I truly sympathize with her,but I feel more for the Belizean people who cannot afford treatment
